Depuy Hip Recall
Depuy Orthopedics, manufacturer of Depuy Hip products made a public announcement on August 26th 2010 detailing the Depuy Hip Recall. The Depuy Recall affected two Depuy Hip products, the Depuy ASR XL Acetabular System and the ASR Hip Resurfacing System. The hip replacement recall was a result of suspected defects in the Depuy Hip replacement products. Hip surgery patients that received these devices often later required a second surgery. “Revision Surgeries” or second surgeries are usually required to correct an issue relating to or caused by the initial hip surgery. These revision surgeries are painful and expensive. Recovery time for these revisions surgeries is often long as the recovery time from the initial hip surgery. |
